Now, I am going back to an effective digital version of NOTHING?! This is beyond infuriating! Audi should have. SO I bought a 2018 A5 Sportback with the MMI/Virtual Cockpit, primarily for the Google Earth/Streetview features that I thought was worthy of the $2900 selling price. I will also be using this thread as a measuring stick for feedback, as I know this is disappointing news.

As of right now Audi does not have a hardware or other similar upgrade that can be made available for MY18 and older vehicles to include the Google Earth functionality. The standard map/navigation views will still be available as they are now, there will just not be any 3D views or Google Streetview available based on the software changes made by Google. I will ask Audi USA the question above on Facebook and will update this thread when Audi USA responds.Audi of America has responded to my Facebook question an hour ago. Without the satellite map overlay I will not renew my subscription. I have been using the Prime subscription for the satellite map overlay and the free twice a year over the air navigation map update. My Audi Connect Prime subscription will also expire in December. The big question is since Google Earth is no longer mentioned anywhere in the MMI, is the Maxar Technologies overlay permanent? Google Earth reference no longer appears in the satellite map overlay and instead the overlay now states the map is from "Maxar Technologies, a USDA Farm Service Agency." Maxar Technologies provide data to Google Earth. In December 2019 Audi updated the software on my 2018 Audi SQ5 during the year 2 service.
